Location surveys: We assess the quality of the various locations and industrial real estate as well as the structural change in our district.

Three times a year, we survey some 1,800 member companies as to how satisfied they are with the course of the economic activity in their sectors. We analyze the results and publish them afterwards.

Our regional committees Giessen, Wetterau and Vogelsberg notice the interest of the industry in the respective district and they represent it towards politics and the public. Their members are part of the Chamber of Industry & Commerce (CIC) general assembly and are from the companies within the districts. The regional committees consult and support the CIC general assembly, the CIC Executive Committee and the management of the CIC in their activities for the benefit of the economy.

Continuing education: We regularly organize events and seminars for professional continuing education.

Figures and facts: We provide important economic data from the Chamber of Industry & Commerce district, amongst other things the current population figures, the number of employees subject to social security contributions, purchasing power, property and business taxes as well as the municipal rates and commercial rent indices in the municipalities.

As an administrative authority representing public interests we are involved in all economic planning. We prepare statements and inform companies regarding building regulations which must be observed according to German law. For example, a zoning map does not only determine the type of usage, but also where on the property it is authorized to be built and how it is built.

The current development of roads and rails as well as airports does not always keep pace with the demands of the entrepreneurs. As a liaison between politics and the industry, we thus campaign for a solid and functional traffic infrastructure with all common carriers.
In the area of freight traffic we act as consultants, in the area of passenger transportation we conduct examinations in view of professional competence.
