Professional Recognition
You have done a vocational training or studied in your home country and wish to work in Germany in your profession or occupation? You have the option of having your foreign qualification recognised in Germany. In some cases, this will be mandatory.

IQ-Network Baden-Württemberg ("Integration through Qualification")
The IQ-Network Baden-Württemberg offers free counselling sessions every Monday in the Pforzheim job center. The IQ counselling offices provide information about the process of recognition of professional qualifications and will refer you to the competent authority responsible for your case.

The Chamber of Industry und Commerce (CIC) Northern Black Forest
In the region, the CIC Northern Black Forest offers free counselling on recognition of foreign vocational qualifications from the industrial and commercial sector.

IHK FOSA
The IHK FOSA (Foreign Skills Approval) is the national competence centre of the German chambers of industry and commerce for the evaluation and recognition of foreign vocational qualifications. IHK FOSA accepts applications for recognition and examines them in order to determine to what extent the foreign qualifications can be considered equivalent to corresponding German qualifications.
