Employment in Germany
Companies and employees from EU countries enjoy the unrestricted right of establishment in Germany. This means that citizens of EU member states and citizens of the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and their spouses (regardless of their own nationality) enjoy the same rights as German citizens in terms of engaging in self-employment and employment. The same applies to EU citizens wishing to reside in Germany for the purpose of seeking work or receiving vocational training. We have compiled some general information for you on the subject in our leaflet . Additional information is available in a brochure from the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Immigration and residence issues
EU citizens do not require a visa / residence permit to enter or remain in Germany, because they have a right of residence under EU law. Moreover, since July 2013 ‘freedom of movement’ certificates have no longer been issued. Consequently, EU citizens residing in Germany no longer have to prove their entitlement to the freedom of movement.

Support for those wishing to do business in Germany
A so-called Point of Single Contact (PSC) can be used by any entrepreneurs from other EU countries who wish to set up a business in Germany or offer their services there. Find out how to get in touch with the Point of Single Contact in Berlin here.
